I just want you and everyone else to know how much I really appreciate this... I really love it!!!!! I can't get my hands off this pretty so I switched bags immediately! It looks even better in actual! I dunno if it's just because it's in pink or the mere fact I was taken by surprise... I think it's both :)

Again, thank you sooo much.. I'm really looking forward to meet you all in person. :)

Am I Ready for a Fashion Show?

John Herrera invited all FIP students to join an upcoming fashion show this 24th June... We can include 2-6 pcs which is related to the theme "From Dusk till Dawn". It's actually more of an evening wear look... I'm actually working on my 1st collection entitled "Spring Romance" since it's more about flowers and soft flowy fabrics and laces. Now, I've been thinking, is this a coincidence? Is this fate? Will I go for it? Hmmm I'll be spending 4 days in Boracay this week which leaves me minimal time to finish my collection. Let's see..

Wedding Jewelry 2010: Ancient-Inspired

Vintage has become a fashion trend this season especially in weddings. The key pieces to achieve this look are cameos,  pearls, rhinestones and matte-gold plated strands and locks. Many designers are inspired by Egyptian, Victorian and Old Asian cultures. As people around the globe are recovering from recession, this trend opened doors to thrifts and antique business. We have to admit, accessories are the last thing people would splurge on except for wedding bands.
I used the old pearls my grandmother gave me  to create a multi-strand pearl necklace. I found this cameo pendant in a thrift shop which was made in the 60s. The rest of the pearls were used to create my foot necklace.
Not only I was able to save, I was able to include my grandmother's memory and save the earth through reusing old trinkets.

Kiss Lock Craze

Lux de Ville LUCKY ME KISS LOCK BAG- Black

The first time I saw one of these babies was from my grandmother when I was little. She always use this similar handbag (without the flower) whenever we go to family gatherings and parties. I like its classic and very stylish form which will always glam up any outfit.

Today, bags have evolved from small-medium sizes to Large to XL handbags. Most women today prefer larger room space to make sure to carry all the essentials in just one bag. Designers such as Marc Jacobs and D&G has created such lovely yet functional handbags with kiss lock closures.

My Top Picks for Hand Bags This Mid 2010

I hate to admit it but I think I'm a bagaholic. I would say handbags will always be girls' best friends.  It's not just something to hold our things but it has now become an important accessory to the entire outfit. This season is all about summer and rainy clouds come together. In the US, they just started enjoying the beach while here in the Philippines, back to school, hello La Nina!

Anyway, here's my best bet for handbags to cheer us up in spite of the upcoming stormy days.

1. Coach Op Art Chainlink Audrey. "Quintessential New York—elegant yet go-anywhere, nostalgic yet modern." -- Coach website. Sooo true! Definitely my topmost pick. Aside from it's pink/purple hue, this handbag easily converts to a shoulder bag. It has an inside zip, cellphone, multifunction pockets, ring to clip accessory. This bag is designed with Op Art Chainlink fabric with glazed cowhide trim. What more could I possibly want in a handbag?

2. Roxy Plume Bag . Chase those blues away with this satchel. It's made of 100% vinyl faux leather with horizontal piercing detail, metal zippers, Roxy logo and charm. An everyday bag great for school or work which will always spice up your wardrobe. What I like in this bag is that it's big enough to carry all things needed, it's waterproof (excellent for sudden drizzles), and it's nice cool shade which matches any outfits even school uniforms.

3. Coach Krystal's Fringe Shoulder Bag. Boho is more of my thing so this bag is definitely a must-have. It is made of premium leather drum-dyed for saturated color, suede trim for a vintage feel. It has a zip top closure, adjustable crossbody strap and interior zip pocket. This is what I like about Coach. They always consider style and function. It's bag chain added a touch of romance to the sling bag.

4. Coach Kristin Woven Leather Drawstring. I always find white very sophisticated and elegant. I also find it challenging to use too. What I like about this bag is its intricate weave and it's simplicity. The only accent found in this is its signature hand tags. It looks refreshing isn't it?

5. Nike Sami Large Club Bag. Feel the energy and enthusiasm to go to the gym with this bag's vibrant colors.  It can fit shoes, beauty kits, extra clothes and does not make your bag look bulky. It has an adjustable shoulder strap and long drop handles which suits any carrying position according to your own comfort. Nike offers different designs and colors such as aqua blue, bright pink and black.

6. Tory Burch Metallic Tote. It has been said that this year's luck for the business earnings were brought in by metals (jewelries etc). So why not use a metallic tote to bring more 'moolah' to the business? Aside from this belief, I would say that this glam bag won't overkill the entire outfit.

7. Diane von Furstenberg Stephanie Bobbie Bag. I adore its craftsmanship for the red metallic looped leather and suede with brown/gold side detail and dark leather trim really looked as if it's beaded. I found this inspiring since it was able to pull off a different silhouette by combining different colored fabrics. According to Neiman Marcus' website, it is the bestselling Stephanie hobo bag.-- Well deserved.

8.Marc Jacobs Python Embossed Satchel. I simply looove bags with kiss-lock closures! It really shows my passion for vintage styles. I'm really not into animal prints but what I like about this is it's unique twist. Designed with quilted topstitching and all over silver studs, this brings out the edgy feel in fashion. It's like vintage meets rocker.

9. Valentino Alice Glam sequine and feather tote. I like sparkles and feathers in my wardrobe but as we all know it is only appropriate to wear them during gimmicks and formal gatherings. Now, with this particular bag, you can absolutely ramp the city streets with sparkles and feathers anytime you like. Valentino was able to meet a touch of extravagance and a tailored look which makes everyday an important date.

10. Bruffler by Steve Madden. Looking back at the bags I chose, I knew I missed something and when I saw this new style from Steve Madden, made the list perfect. I missed a doctors or speedy bag as some may call it. Since speedy bags just come in different color and fabric, I'm ought to find something unique. What I like in this bag is its ruffled design with zipper edged look. Very chic and modern.
