My mum asked me to create costumes for her hula recital on her birthday. Since she gave me the design, I had no choice but to follow her will. Good thing I was able to get these nice fabrics for her costumes. I just can't believe it only took me 2 days from making patterns and sewing those two. She even offered her classmates my services which is really nice of her. Though it costed me much for shipping it all the way to the US, it was well worth it since it's her birthday and I got myself my USB, a new dress a blow-up photo of our family portrait. Happy Birthday Mum!

Spring 2011 Collection

Spring

A sense of warmth is tapping at the door;
And hope, a feeling out from distant lore
– Or so it seems – clears the deep refrain!

Emerging youth: a dormant lea awakes.
The raging colour, singing loud, partakes
In annual birth – spring is born again!

A zest anew for nascent life
Begins in floral train:
Carriage one: a snowdropp thrill;
Carriage two: the crocus;
Number three, a daffodil – dancing,
Drawing focus – as she would,
Attention seeker!

How I love our spring:
The bold and sleeker feel I get,
An inner glow, a ring!
I’ve paid the winter’s chilly debt, so
Now upon the wing!

Fashion Institute of the Philippines Graduation 2011: Imaginarium

The school's graduation show was held at Greenbelt 5 Fashionwalk on the 25th of August. The event was accompanied by great tasting wines and posh hors d' oeuvres. Judged by prominent members of the fashion industry, editors and CEOs from fashion magazines and boutiques, the night ended with grateful designers that will flourish the Philippine Fashion Industry. I may not be there personally but I am thankful to my family, teachers and very best friends who supported and helped me till this day.
 I'm just sad that my video didn't turn up. I really spent a lot of time rehearsing my lines in front of the camera. Oh well, at least I made an impression with my music. Thanks to Lil Bro for the photos.

Speed Magazine Turns 8

This is my first show for FIP (Fashion Institute of the Philippines). I was so inspired by Nokia's peg which is hot pink and earthy feel for Speed Magazine's anniversary theme. I learned a lot here especially from the backstage mayhem and fittings. Here are some photos from the show by Yna Amores.

Inspirations

I spotted these photos from 1974 L'Officiel magazines. My brother and I were brainstorming on our concepts for our final shoot in our styling and photography classes. I also wonder if Photoshop existed in the 70s...
